Theon, the former supervisor of James Hansen, NASA’s vocal man-made global warming fear soothsayer, has now publicly declared himself a skeptic and declared that Hansen “embarrassed NASA” with his alarming climate claims and said Hansen was “was never muzzled.”

Hansen has maintained erroneous projections of global warming since 1988; advocated criminal penalties against his critics; and recently proposed a government wealth redistribution scheme leveraging his false prognostications (AGW) as a weapon against capitalism and free markets.

Useful information from NOAA and NASA and other no-expense-can-be-spared government science projects, regarding the climate of Earth, is presently not available. To assess Earth’s climate for the forseeable future, anecdotal information only can be trusted. Since the climate of Earth has turned cold, there is no shortage of anecdotal information. Ice Age Now!

On the other hand, we do have some useful scientific data on the Sun’s climate (although solar climate anecdote is scarce). Could the onslaught of Earthly anecdotal information, which comes because people are COLD, be related?

In the estimation of Bobby Kennedy, free markets are to be abhored as elements of an economic system. Bobby abhorred free markets before AGW was ever a tingle in Al Gore’s thigh; and so did Al Gore.

There is only one solution to AGW. It is the same old solution. It was the easy solution to every problem before AGW, and it will be the easy solution to every problem when AGW is gone. It is the only solution halfwitted moonbat Bobby knows or will ever know. It is the universal solution for every problem; the wrench that fits all fasteners. Bobby is not familiar with the history of previous efforts to implement his solution; nor does he care to be. Bobby thinks history is not progressive, I would venture. The easy solution is all that matters, whatever, whenever, or why ever the problem. Whatever ills Bobby’s one trick solution has caused humanity over history, including 100s of millions of human deaths, should not distract Bobby from his delusion.

Bobby’s magic solution is central bureaucratic control of not just all energy, as he demonstrates in the video below! It is the central control of all wealth, all “capital,” all chattels, all real property, called generously “collectivism.” Wealth or assets must be controlled by central planners; not capitalists competing in free markets, not citizens, not corporations, not free economies. Only central planners will do. Otherwise Earth will perish in 5-4-3-2-1 years. Humans have no right to control wealth; only the collective does.

We have an emergency, a catastrophe, a cataclysm completely fabricated by failed collectivist fear mongers to leverage finally their backward ideology – which ideology fails disasterously whenever or wherever it it is tried, and fails at a horrific mortal human cost.

AGW was manufactured by collectivists and is propounded today for one overwhelming purpose. AGW is the ultimate wedge “issue” to finally unseat and remove capitalism forever from human economic endeavor. No factual evidence of AGW has ever been presented. No convincing argument against capitalism is offered, either. Data, evidence, facts mean nothing. Collectivism feels good to half-witted moonbats like Bobby Kennedy and Al Gore, no matter how many humans it always starves or destroys. Capitalism and free markets do not feel good to simpletons like Bobby Kennedy.

These fools are actually proud of their delusions and distortions! Oceanic Uptake of Atmospheric CO2?

Has oceanic uptake of CO2 become a significant factor?

Yearly data update is now available on Mauna Loa carbon dioxide atmospheric content in Mauna Loa CO2 record posts smallest yearly gain in its history – maybe at Watt’s Up With That?

What we see is the smallest increase in carbon dioxide atmospheric content, apparently, in the history of this observation.

There is a little concern that the data may not be “final” for a few months.

We know the ocean is cooling from the nearly unmentionable Argo float data. The oceanic uptake should be a very significant factor in the atmospheric observation. Reducing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere will not help humans, however, or human food either. Maybe more carbon dioxide in the ocean will increase the supply of seafood. If the Earth does get colder, as it shows every indication of doing, we will need more food from somewhere. Acidity will be the next complaint we hear, I think some such comment is coming in now . . .

This article explains why the cooling effect of excess Antarctic ice is significantly greater than the warming effect of missing Arctic ice.

I would only amplify strongly that Arctic sea ice has been increasing for the last two years; so heat transfer into the arctic ocean is also decreasing year over year.

Overall albedo of Earth is up by what I consider is a large factor, reported in Earthshine Draft Report – Albedo. It certainly looks like we are in store for continued cooling, particular with the turn-over in the Pacific cited often by J.S. D’Aleo writing at ICECAP (and many other writers).

Exxonmobil corp., the world’s largest crude oil refiner, supports taxing carbon dioxide as the most efficient way of curbing greenhouse gas emissions, its chief executive said. “As a businessman, it’s hard to speak favourably about any new tax, but a carbon tax strikes me as a more direct, more transparent and more effective approach,” Rex Tillerson, CEO of the Irving, Texas based company, said Thursday at the Woodrow Wilson international center for scholars in Washington. At a Dec. 11 event in Chicago, Tillerson, 56, said he preferred a carbon tax to carbon trading programs such as the type used in Europe. A trading program, known as ‘cap and trade,’ “inevitably introduces unnecessary cost and complexity” that reduces effectiveness, said Tillerson. They require a vast expansion of regulation, he said. a carbon tax “can be more easily implemented” and is the “most efficient means of reflecting the cost of carbon,” said Tillerson. “Such a tax should be made revenue neutral,” he said, which requires other taxes to be lowered so that the overall tax burden isn’t increased.

Like Texas plans to end the life of Andre Thomas, the US government plans to destroy Exxon Mobil. The natural reaction, in such circumstances, apparently is to eat yourself.

Now, I have nothing against carbon tax – as long as it is the ONLY tax, and replaces completely all other federal government taxation certainly including income tax and social security tax. Carbon tax could vastly simplify taxation and provide a rational tax base for funding federal government’s constitutional purposes including the miliitary. This is not the plan however.

The real plan is to remove capital from the economy and redistribute this “wealth” equitably as determined by the inverse of economic productivity. These systems have always worked well over history since Lenin perfected Marx’s original invention. Human overpopulation has been kept in check.

Twelve dead as winter weather freezes Europe

A BLAST of frigid weather has claimed up to a dozen lives in Europe as temperatures tumbled below freezing overnight in what weather officials today dubbed the coldest night of winter. Polish police said the latest victims who froze to death yesterday included a 68-year-old homeless man found in an abandoned house in the southeast town of Jozefow, and a 51-year-old man who lived alone in central Eligiow and died a few steps away from his home.

Five other deaths across Europe have also been blamed on the harsh blast of wintry weather, including that of a man in Milan who died when a canopy collapsed on him under the weight of snowfall.

Temperatures in Poland dropped as low as -25deg Celsius.

According to Interior Ministry data, hypothermia has been blamed for 76 deaths in Poland since November 2008.

Snowfalls disrupted air traffic across Europe, shutting down airports in Italy for several hours and paralysing TGV high-speed trains in France.

Milan’s two airports Malpensa and Linate, as well as the airports in Turin and Bergamo, were closed all morning after snow reached up to 30cm.

The French weather service called it “the coldest night of winter” so far with temperatures ranging for minus nine degress in Paris – the coldest since 1997 – and minus 20 degrees in the northern Ardennes region.

The rare sight of snow was seen in the southern Mediterranean port of Marseille, closing the local airport and leaving some 12,000 households in the region without electricity.

Demand for power for heating has soared and raised the risk of power cuts, especially in Brittany and the southeast.

Heavy snow has forced the closing of the mountainous French-Italian border since last night.

In Germany, where earlier this week a 77-year-old mentally ill woman froze to death, temperatures plummeted overnight with many areas recording record lows.

The coldest place was Dippoldiswalde-Reinberg near Dresden in the east where the mercury plunged to -27.7deg.

“Temperatures like this suggest that in certain places in the region the lowpoint must have been under the minus 30 mark,” the German weather office said in a statement.

The freezing weather is expected to last through the week due to a stable mass of cold air coming from Scandanavia and Siberia, the French weather service said.

Development of energy resources for the United States, and socialism – what do these have in common?

Beginning January 19, they have a great deal in common.

In the august vision of Barack Obama, the best and the brightest Secretary of Energy is socialist Carol M. Browner, Clinton EPA administrator from 1993 to 2001.

From Browner’s Socialist International, of which she is a commissioner:

The idea of Socialism has caught the imagination of people across the world, promoted successful political movements, decisively improved the lives of working men and women, and contributed to shaping the 20th century.

Socialism decisively improved their lives; not hard work, not personal responsibility. Not new technology, not innovation, not human intelligence, not formation of capital, and not even vast improvements in infrastructure - it was the easy fix “socialism.”

That part of the 20th century most influenced by socialism was not even as happy as present day Venezuela, anyway. Maybe socialism in general went better than Cuba? Such a conclusion would require careful study.

The “principles” of Browner’s socialist organization have little to say about energy development, except:

We advocate joint international efforts to replace all environmentally damaging products and processes by alternatives which enhance nature.

The energy development czar of the United States, is the queen of the EPA, and a socialist!

If you need more energy for some reason (say, global warming operates in reverse) over the next 2 to 20 years, your energy czar does not see it your way; nor does your President (elect).

Drill, baby drill? Say, aren’t energy resources part of “infrastructure?” Maybe not the favorite part. Energy will be less expensive in Red China; maybe Obama is right, American business should all go there since Red Chinese ENERGY infrastructure is superior!

Let socialism “decisively improve” the condition of the American worker; as it has done in Detroit. American business, on leave from Obama, will take Obama’s advice, and go to Red China, where there is energy infrastructure – because the socialists there have learned from history and hard experience, and at least they are pragmatic socialists.
