Carbon dioxide is directly responsible, absolutely. Or is it CFCs again?

Maybe it’s methane. Maybe it is some anthropogenic gas yet undiscovered by progressive scientists.

Maybe Dick Cheney has control of all volcanoes in the Phillipines. “Science” has many alternatives at its disposal. Why not invoke all of them? Nobody is watching.

If you believe scientists, then God only can help you. “Global Warming” will not.

Winter freeze kills 79 in Poland

Perhaps the 79 were counting on warmer weather. How tragic. (“Perhaps” is a rhetorical device sometimes identified as “understatement;” the 79 were absolutely murdered by fallacious science).

Only one (other) problem: winter hasn’t started yet.

WARSAW – Ten people have died of cold in Poland over the past day, taking the toll since winter set in earlier this month to 79, police said Tuesday.

A national police spokeswoman told AFP that 10 people had been found dead since Monday.

The majority of the victims were homeless men who died while drunk, police said.

Fifty-two of the 79 deaths recorded since December 1 occurred since Friday, as temperatures plunged to minus 20 degrees Celsius (minus four Fahrenheit).

By Tuesday, temperatures had risen to around zero degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit).

Police and municipal employees have boosted patrols in areas where the homeless gather, notably public parks and allotments, to try to persuade them to head to special hostels.

The death toll is far from unusual in Poland, which regularly faces harsh winter conditions.

In the 2008 to 2009 winter season, for example, police recorded 82 deaths from hypothermia.

Poland’s highest winter toll in recent years was in 2005 to 2006, when 233 died.

Copenhagen climate summit: global warming ’caused by sun’s radiation’

Global warming is caused by radiation from the sun, according to a leading scientist speaking out at an alternative “sceptics’ conference” in Copenhagen.

As the world gathered in the Danish capital for the UN Climate Change Conference, more than 50 scientists, businessmen and lobby groups met to discuss the arguments against man made global warming.

Although the meeting was considerably smaller than the official gathering of 15,000 people meeting down the road, the organisers claimed it could change the course of negotiations.

Professor Henrik Svensmark, a physicist at the Danish National Space Center in Copenhagen, said the recent warming period was caused by solar activity.

He said the last time the world experienced such high temperatures, during the medieval warming period, the Sun and the Earth were in a similar cycle.

Professor Nils-Axel Morner, a geologist from Stockholm University, said sea level rise has also been exaggerated by the “climate alarmists” using computer models.

He said observational data from lake sediments, coast lines and trees show sea levels have remained stable.

The private emails and logs leaked last month from the Climatic Research Unit at the University of East Anglia can’t tell us whether industrial activity is really heating the earth’s atmosphere and endangering civilization. But they have settled the identity of the Great Satan of climate science. Torontonian Stephen McIntyre, a gentle, persistent amateur who had no credentials in applied science before stepping into the global warming debate in 2003, is mentioned more than 100 times.
In the emails, leading climate researchers dismiss him as a capitalist hireling or a hapless “bozo,” and argue about the relative merits of ignoring him versus counterattacking him, even as others acknowledge that his criticisms have merit and imitate his use of the Web as a venue for hyper-detailed scientific discussion. At one point in 2005, CRU director Phil Jones, now under suspension, ponders the possibility that McIntyre might use U.K. freedom-of-information laws to obtain raw weather-station data compiled by the CRU. He grumbles: “I think I’ll delete the file rather than send to anyone.” The overall impression is that of 100 elephants stampeding in confusion and panic around a mouse.

The political stakes are now so high when it comes to the “Climategate” scandal, and motives are being questioned so loudly on both sides, that few are noticing the remarkable story at the heart of it all: a 62-year-old mining executive and squash enthusiast has, for better or worse, found his way into the centre of a major scientific melée—almost by accident—and been able to make legitimate contributions.
McIntyre first became notorious in 2003 for his statistical critique, co-authored with economist Ross McKitrick, of the “hockey stick graph” that showed global temperatures rocketing upward in the 20th century. The hockey stick, featured in the 2001 report by the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, had a profound influence on policy worldwide, and played a starring role in presentations like Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth. The McIntyre-McKitrick critique called attention to uncertainties in its temperature reconstructions dating back before 1600, to certain problems with dendrochronology (the use of tree rings to estimate past temperatures), and to issues with the statistical calculations underlying the hockey stick. Some climatologists insist that the graph tells the same story when you correct for all this, but much of the critique is now accepted, and the hockey stick, whose weaknesses are better understood, has itself become a somewhat inconvenient distraction for climatologists and environmentalists.

Meanwhile, McIntyre, working alone, has gone on to score further critical points. In 2007, he caught a mistake in the reporting of U.S. surface temperatures by NASA’s Goddard Institute that was quickly acknowledged, with thanks, and corrected. (NASA’s gracious manner contrasts sharply with the attitudes displayed behind the scenes at the CRU.)

The truth is that McIntyre, 62, little resembles the caricature of a wild-eyed climate-change “denier.” He is scrupulous about focusing his criticism on statistical procedures and disclosure practices. He is polite to, and about, climate scientists. He refuses to make grand categorical statements of the “Global warming is just commie horse puckey” type, preferring to remain agnostic, and he discourages such talk on his website, Climate Audit. Church of Global Warming Reveals Scientific Basis

Which scientific basis is absolutely zero.

Lord Monckton confronts a member of Greenpeace with her ignorance and blind faith. She’s a very nice lady, but like so many of her fellow believers in the religion of global warming, she’s terribly misguided, blindly accepts AGW propaganda, and knows absolutely nothing about the truth:

We all have also examined the rest of the scientific data cited by Lord Monckton, that is global temperature during the last 20 years, and hurricane frequency during the last decades, and we all know what he says is perfectly well grounded in scientific fact. And all the while, carbon dioxide has been steadily increasing.

Unfortunately, science today is far more about religion than fact.

Sacramento Braces For Record December 7 Cold

No December 7 Sacramento temperature as low as 27 degrees has ever been recorded – since observations started in 1849.

Carbon dioxide continues to increase, so Al Gore is not worried. IPCC and Al Gore apologize if anyone is inconvenienced by the rapidly cooling climate. Please continue not to exhale, or at least send all your cash to save the world from global warming due to greenhouse gas carbon dioxide.

Snow is coming to the Sacramento Valley — but only a light dusting is expected on the streets of Sacramento.

The National Weather Service said today that 2-4 inches of snow is expected to fall at the 1,000-foot elevation, below Auburn and El Dorado Hills.

Cindy Matthews, forecaster, said a dusting of snow is likely to start in the pre-commute hours in Sacramento and should continue off and on throughout the day.

The cold storm system dropping from the northeast out of Canada will be unusual since the coldest temperatures will bypass Northern California communities such as Red Bluff and Redding but drop Sacramento Valley temperatures Monday to a record 27 degrees.

That’s the coldest for Dec. 7 since the National Weather Service began tracking temperatures in Sacramento in 1849.

The city of Sacramento last had 2 inches of snow in February 1976.

Matthews said a trace amount of snow has fallen in the area four times since then – most recently on Jan. 28, 2002.

Peer Review – ROFLMAO

Americans are paying a lot of money for “scientific” research – except it is not peer-reviewed science, so therefor it is not good science. It is bad science. Still we pay.

The same “scientific” research is being milked by government to charge Americans for carbon dioxide (and other) abatement, while there is no measureable global warming.

The “Peer Review” process has been severely and blatantly abrogated – ONLY SCIENTISTS WHO AGREE (warmists) PERFORM THE “Review,” we now learn. And then, it is a thin review.

This fact could not be more obvious; raw data or algorithms are not released and mysteriously disappear, without a word or a peep of concern expressed by the correcting “scientists,” whose work is “peer reviewed” they lie.

This is not science we are paying for – it is fraud, and criminal fraud at that; since freedom of information act violations are prevalant, at least.

Hadley CRU, NASA GISS, New Zealand NIWA – we have a world-wide pandemic of bad, un-reviewed science. It’s not that there is no longer debate of the “science;” instead science has been made impossible by widespread abrogation of the key component, peer review. Debate has been utterly squelched.

Example of Climate Work That Needs to be Checked and Replicated

Reverse Engineered Data - all the algorithms and raw data are not available.

The GISS data set, created by the Goddard Center of NASA, takes the USHCN data set and somehow uses nearby stations to correct for anomalous stations. I say somehow, because, incredibly, these government scientists, whose research is funded by taxpayers and is being used to make major policy decisions, refuse to release their algorithms or methodology details publicly. They keep it all secret! Their adjustments are a big black box that none of us are allowed to look into (and remember, these adjustments account for the vast majority of reported warming in the last century).

Warmist Urges Suspension of Democracy

By subverting science in violation of the the public trust, and perpetrating a massive fraud on the world, IPCC and warmists have long subverted the democratic process.

Nevertheless, it has always been predictible that further, more extreme sanctions against freedom, capitalism, and democracy should be applied by warmists.

Gore has long advocated lying and exaggeration on the part of warmists; James Hansen and others have urged violence and civil disobedience.

The next step for warmists? In the absence of any warming at all, they advocate the suspension of democracy itself, to stop global warming.

There is no lie bizarre enough to discourage warmists from using it; their end of controlling Earth justifies any means, which chant has a familiar ring to it.

Carbon dioxide in atmosphere continues to increase; but there is no warming. With every day of diminished solar activity and lengthening of cycle 23, it becomes more likely that Earth is going to get really cold. The same fools, ignorant of history, will use that as an excuse to take control of Earth, too. They need and demand control; everybody else should be equal and without power, except for them. No more self-government for the masses. Every crises is an excuse to do foolish things, as Obama has emphasized.

Professor Clive Hamilton, now the Greens’ candidate for the Victorian seat vacated by former Treasurer Peter Costello, wins for blind persistence. Observe.

Hamilton complains: “The Right has jettisoned science in favour of deeper beliefs.”

But this same Hamilton preaches: “So I think where we’re going is to begin to see a Gaian earth in its ecological, cybernetic way, infused with some notion of

mind or soul or chi, which will transform our attitudes to it away from an instrumentalist one, towards an attitude of greater reverence.”

Again. Hamilton complains: “Climate change is the most important arena for the long-running culture war of the neo-conservatives. In pursuit of their goals they have tapped into primitive fears.”

But this same Hamilton preaches: “I cannot see any alternative to ramping up the fear factor.”

This week he showed what he meant, claiming if “climate deniers” won, then “hundreds of millions of mostly impoverished people … would die”.

This made these “deniers” – he named me – not just “more dangerous” than Holocaust deniers, but over time “more iniquitous” and “morally worse”.

If fact, he threatens a “suspension of democratic processes” to deal with such opposition. So give that man the prize … while we’re still allowed.

Carpetbagger of the month The United Nations wins by billions.

It’s asking Australia to sign a treaty in Copenhagen next month that in its draft commits all rich countries to pay 0.7 per cent of their GDP each year – which for Australia means handing over $7 billion a year as our “carbon debt”.

This is cash that the UN, infamous for its oil-for-food corruption scandal, will pass on to countries such as China, minus handling fees, to help them cope with global warming. Or something.

What makes this demand so brazen is that the UN has repeatedly asked for this same 0.7 per cent of our wealth – but each time with a different excuse.

In 1970, the UN called on rich countries such as Australia to give

0.7 per cent of their wealth to the Third World – minus those handling fees- to ensure “human dignity”.

In 2002, it called on rich countries such as Australia to hand over that

0.7 per cent for “development” and to “protect and restore the health and integrity of the Earth’s ecosystem”.

In 2004, the UN called on us to pay that 0.7 per cent to ensure “collective security” and a “more secure world”.

In 2005, the UN told us to hand over that 0.7 per cent to ensure “millennium development goals” and fight poverty.

No go again. So the UN is going for broke at Copenhagen, demanding once more that 0.7 per cent from us, but this time to prevent “serious adverse effects of climate change”. To save the world.

And this time your Prime Minister says we’ll pay a “fair share”. It worked!

Naturally, material demands of the “warmists,” (er, Marxists), ultimately is at the root.
