Bullshit normally does collapse, which I think was predicted here. Kudos to me.

Grand narratives, be they bullshit or not, also collapse, we are now informed. I am not certain if every new grand narrative is bullshit; but I have long examined them for it. Some passed exams, like the grand narrative of private enterprise and free markets – a grand narrative indeed in an otherwise pathetic human history. The most noble narrative of all history may be free market capitalism; but this narrative today is under heavy attack by children.

There is little further need to examine the more or less grand narrative of global warming.

That is why I have not been posting much.

However, there is an election coming. Warmist profound ignorance of reality for some reason makes them highly electable – somehow gives them voter appeal. We absolutely cannot stand any more of these.

Much more ominous than any election, there is also the normal climate variation on earth which we face. We have made ourselves ignorant of it. The ignorance of man is another narrative.

I am considering moving all climate posts to Porcupinerim.

I want to thank every single viewer, commenter, warmist or not. The debate is the grandest narrative of all. Long may you, and we, debate.

Osama Joins Obama

Al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden has enlisted with Obama among the ranks of the warmists who blame American capitalism for their imagined pathos.

Apparently, it is getting warmer in Osama’s cave.

Like Obama, Osama also wishes to bring “the wheels of the American economy to a halt.”

Osama also like Obama would like to see the dollar replaced as the reserve currency of the world.

These guys both bow to Arab princes, must be.

Myself, I can see a lot of advantage in a warm cave.

Bin Laden Blasts U.S. for Climate Change

Al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden has called in a new audiotape for the world to boycott American goods and the U.S. dollar, blaming the United States and other industrialized countries for global warming.

In the tape, aired in part on Al-Jazeera television Friday, bin Laden warns of the dangers of climate change and says that the way to it is to bring “the wheels of the American economy” to a halt.

He says the world should “stop consuming American products” and “refrain from using the dollar,” according to a transcript on Al-Jazeera’s Web site.

The new message, whose authenticity could not immediately be confirmed, comes after a bin Laden tape released last week in which he endorsed a failed attempt to blow up an American airliner on Christmas Day.

US Government Scientists Cherry-Pick Their Input Data

But that’s not all: US government scientists RIG their output data; AFTER THEY ARE DONE cherry-picking their input data.

(I am referring to US GOVERNMENT CLIMATE and WEATHER scientists, immediately. But if you suffer from the allusion you are a scientist, and work for the US government, you should ask yourself if you are in the wrong kitchen. You absolutely should consider a scientific career at the UN).

GERMS would make superior US government scientists, imho.

The bigger the government, the bigger the lie – has been demonstrated.

In fact, what is proven is that “government scientist” is an oxymoron perfectly designed for the satisfaction of illiterate government bureaucrats and journalists.

My advice is to keep “government scientists” at about 6 parsecs distance (note for journalists, this is a long way). Otherwise, they are genetically predisposed to pick your pocket; and will do so without mercy until long after global warming freezes over.

The “allegations” – as disingeneously referred to by the journalist below – are scientifically justified – the proof is a lock. The facts are obvious and speak for themselves. This is in noteworthy distinction to anthropogenic global warming, which has never been scientifically proven. “TRUE BELIEVERS” are only interested in the unproven. Of what is scientifically proven or what is actual history (e.g. Medieval Warming), they prefer to remain skeptical.

Two American researchers allege that U.S. government scientists have skewed global temperature trends by ignoring readings from thousands of local weather stations around the world, particularly those in colder altitudes and more northerly latitudes, such as Canada.

In the 1970s, nearly 600 Canadian weather stations fed surface temperature readings into a global database assembled by the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Today, NOAA only collects data from 35 stations across Canada.

Worse, only one station — at Eureka on Ellesmere Island — is now used by NOAA as a temperature gauge for all Canadian territory above the Arctic Circle.

The Canadian government, meanwhile, operates 1,400 surface weather stations across the country, and more than 100 above the Arctic Circle, according to Environment Canada.

Yet as American researchers Joseph D’Aleo, a meteorologist, and E. Michael Smith, a computer programmer, point out in a study published on the website of the Science and Public Policy Institute, NOAA uses “just one thermometer [for measuring] everything north of latitude 65 degrees.”

The Nobel Prize Committee HOPED the glaciers were melting. And, it was so, for a while. Who do we blame?

Not everybody believed. Not everybody wanted to believe.

EVEN THE “SCIENTIST” WHO MADE THE BOGUS CLAIM DIDN’T BELIEVE IT.

He wanted to influence government! And government was more than happy to oblige, sans examination of the details. Another example of government failure.

Same story in New Zealand, same story at Hadley CRU, same story at Penn State, same story at NASA GISS, same story at . . .

QED. AGW believers are dupes. THE NOBEL PRIZE COMMITTEE IS HOLDING THE BAG. Wake up. You are killing people.

The scientist behind the bogus claim in a Nobel Prize-winning UN report that Himalayan glaciers will have melted by 2035 last night admitted it was included purely to put political pressure on world leaders.
Dr Murari Lal also said he was well aware the statement, in the 2007 report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), did not rest on peer-reviewed scientific research.
In an interview with The Mail on Sunday, Dr Lal, the co-ordinating lead author of the report’s chapter on Asia, said: ‘It related to several countries in this region and their water sources. We thought that if we can highlight it, it will impact policy-makers and politicians and encourage them to take some concrete action.
‘It had importance for the region, so we thought we should put it in.’

Sailors used wind before the internal combustion engine was available.

For a thousand years, we have dug deep and moved the earth to uncover coal; and we had abundant energy.

Now that Earth is getting cold, we are much wiser – we use wind. So the Earth doesn’t get warm.

The shutdown of coal-fired power that Obama bragged about during his campaign is real and it is NOW.

If you can get energy, it will cost you more – eventually much more. You had too much energy anyway.

Obama’s post-Americans will live in huts, like most of the rest of the world. It’s about time greedy Americans were made equal. Obama is determined to do it. More tax is only the start of “change.”

15 Missouri communities served by Sho-Me Power forced to look for new power supply

You will pay government to subsidize wind power. When the wind stops, you may not be able to get power at all – the most practical backup to wind energy is coal.

Since government is now determining what energy source must be used, government will also determine who gets energy.

Britain’s energy policy faces new controversy as it can be revealed that electricity customers are paying more than £1 billion a year to subsidise windfarms and other forms of renewable energy.

Professional Buffoon Leads Obama Attack Against Industry

American sins against the rest of the world are manifestly abundant; but the most heinous crime of Americans against the world is industrialization, declares today’s (American, dubiously) progressive.

And there is no more vociferous progressive than James Hansen, industrial-strength buffoon extraordinaire. Hansen is a “servant of the people” and therefore cannot be a political activist; but the Hatch Act, at the pleasure of government, is no longer enforced.

Hansen now wishes to begin deindustrialization, because Earth is getting too warm. Obama is jumping right on it. Several important industries have already been destroyed; more industrial destruction is in the immediate plans of the destructively talented Obama administration.

Are you too warm? Will you be warm when Obama “skyrockets” your energy prices?

You will be warm, indeed. Warmer than Massachusetts, by a wide margin. Probably as warm as you can get.

I hope that is not too late to get warm.
