Does this sound like Chicago-style politics or what? I have tried to bring matters like this to the attention of my three “representatives” in Congress and all I get is a bland – “Thank you for expressing your opinion . . .”

I fear this sort of thing is going to result in some very serious actions by citizens driven to them by politicians like Obama, Gore, et al.

One of the classic demonstrations of Capitalism’s superiority over Communism is your local grocery store. It always has what your community needs because it knows what you want.
Unlike the stores in Moscow used to be, with empty shelves, because the government’s central management and price controls made them so.
I guess it’s our turn now that we have a “food czar” who will tell people what to plant–though they know nothing about farming, and stores what to buy–though nobody wants it.
The shelves will be empty soon enough.

US army vet is right… you look back on history on how hitler and the nazi’s gained control of germany prior to ww2 and you will see we are following the same steps. 911 which gave the government more power and us less freedomsto us, but brain washed most of the country into patriotism and waving their flags… then you get a guy who is promising change! but you look at everything obama has said when he was campaining for president and now when he first took office and he almost has done opposit of everything he promised us he would do… he is turning this country into a socialist nation and starting “manditory” service for everyone 18-24.where did our freedom to choose go? if you still think this country is free your wrong. we have a blindfold over our eyes.. we have the perseption we are free but in reality we are just serfs… i am proud of all of you who oppose obama and his socailst agenda! bush and the republicans suck too… we need to stop dividing the nation into two parties{republican/democrate} and start being good americans…

Here in Ski Town USA (Steamboat Springs, CO), the ski resort had an all-time record snowfall amount winter before last.

And, this year, I awoke to a snow covered front lawn on the last day of summer. That normally doesn’t happen until Halloween.
