Wind Sucks

Wind power has been available at no charge for millenia.

Why have humans been digging up coal, at a vast cost including widespread human mortality, for thousands of years?

Story here: Wind power bailout coming?

Wind installations drop 71% in the first half — and the forecast past 2010 looks dreary

“The U.S. wind industry is in distress,” a top renewable energy advocate said Tuesday, and the situation appears as though it could get worse.

Denise Bode, chief executive of the American Wind Energy Assn., said that without a national renewable energy standard, investment and interest in wind projects past 2010 would be headed for a free fall.

Despite more than 5.5 gigawatts under construction, the number of installations this year will still end up 25% to 45% below 2009 levels, according to a new report from the group. And beyond that, there’s a yawning hole in the queue for planned projects.

The first half of the year saw just 1,239 new megawatts come online, a 57% plunge from the same period in 2008 and a 71% drop from last year. Only two new manufacturing plants were built, compared to seven in 2008 and five in 2009.

Even with 2009’s record-breaking year-end total of more than 10,000 megawatts, the U.S. is trailing Europe and China, Bode said. The wild swings in installations also lead to layoffs and distrust of the industry.

Global Warming Provokes Bison Attack

As the Earth is destroyed by greedy capitalist Americans, wild animals are naturally striking back.

Now that the Earth is much warmer as prediced by climate models, don’t get between a grizzly mother and her cub! Things have changed, since the good old days before industrialization.

Excess carbon dioxide in Earth’s atmosphere also damages brain cell function, according to advanced computer models, scientists said.

Backup Energy For PV, Turbines

July 9, 2010 - No wind, no energy

If you like energy from wind turbines, be prepared to pay twice (or 4 times, that’s fine with government; or whatever it takes for such sexy stuff) for the generation facilities.

Why? BECAUSE THE WIND IS UNRELIABLE, otherwise aircraft carriers would have sails, OK.

Here is Kansas’ 250MW, estimated $425 Million Smoky Hills “wind farm:” except the turbines are not moving, on July 9, 2010. They are motionless. They have often been motionless.

Good thing, government has DEEP POCKETS to backup such crucial “generation” facilities with rapid start conventional plants. Duh.

But nobody has deeper pockets than in Kansas. Right, jayhawkers?

Guess what else. The sun does not always shine, even in Kansas.

Criminal Blogs Minimize Climate Change

Stamp government out; before it stamps you out -makes sense to me. When did government ever produce ONE SINGLE ACCURATE CLIMATE PROJECTION?

The ultimate impossibility, in the universe, is that government could possibly produce a successful climate projection. Nonetheless, here we are:

People who are sceptical of climate change could soon be facing criminal charges in the European Court of Justice, British National Party leader and MEP Nick Griffin MEP has said.

Speaking in an exclusive Radio Red, White and Blue interview on this week’s “Eurofile” report, Mr Griffin told interviewer John Walker about a recent sitting of the European Parliament’s subcommittee dealing with the matter, which had passed a ruling which in effect placed legal sanction against anyone who dared question the origin, cause or effect of “climate change.”

Mr Griffin revealed how he could not get a straight answer out of the committee while it was in session, but that afterwards it was admitted to him that that intention of the rule was to criminalise dissension on the topic of “climate change.”
